Karapiro, Whitehall, Taotaoroa and Karapiro Hydro Schools’ 125th Jubilee Committee
Meeting 16 Held Tuesday June 22nd at Karapiro School.
Present: Kevin Roigard, Deb Robinson, Barbara Smythe, Michael Jeans, David Graham, Dave Roigard, Justin Bertrand, Shona McCulloch, Betty Newcombe, Del Sinnott, Caroline Webbon, Vicki Webb, Craig Sulzberger, Kerryanne Walker, Margaret Roigard & Grant Brunskill

Minutes: May meeting minutes were taken as read. Accept Del 2nd Betty
Finance: Income $700 Farmlands Expenses None Balance $3935.40
Secretary to write letter of receipt and thanks to Farmlands. Moved Barbara 2nd Del
Correspondence: Incoming; Letter of reply from Louise Upston confirming attendance at Opening Luncheon.
Matters Arising:
Marquee: David Roigard moved that we send a $500 deposit for the marquee hire.2nd Michael
Sponsorship: Harcourts have come on board and will have naming rights to our Saturday evening, Harcourts Dinner and Dance. Thanks go to Craig for liaising with David Soar. We are still waiting to hear back from another sponsor.
MC on the evening will acknowledge sponsors. We will look into having stand-up table advertising with Sponsors’ Logos on both Friday and Saturday nights.
Publicity: Our local papers will both continue to be given articles promoting our event, now with mention of our sponsors. Caroline and Michael will put an article together.
Name Tags: After discussion, it was decided to have name tags only, not separate tickets of entry to each event.
Each name tag will have 1, 2 or 3 different coloured stickers representing Wine & Cheese, Luncheon & Dinner Dance.
Narrow ribbon, as per sample, will be attached in the appropriate colour.
Names will be hand written.“Committee” will be written under names. Moved Deb 2nd Shona
Tiles: Nothing more has been decided
Booklet: Michael is digitising the info from the last book as it is updated. He is still hoping to get more info from local families. We may need to ‘target’ families instead of waiting for offers. Some members will meet again at Karapiro School.
Opening: Secretary will contact the Mayor again to ask him specifically to “Open “our Jubilee.
Grace: Gordon Jellyman has confirmed he would honoured to say grace on Saturday Evening.
Haka: Rugby boys from both schools are to be taught.
Photos: Karapiro decade photos will be taken from approx. 2pm on Saturday.
