Minutes: Minutes from March 8th were taken as read
Accepted Kerryanne 2nd Shona
Finance: As there has not been another monthly statement the balance remains the same, although $135 has been banked and we have had $2 charges. These will show on our next statement. Balance $737.87
Accepted David G. 2nd Del
Correspondence: Justin had a letter of support from Louise Upston to accompany Application Form for a grant.
Matters arising:
Sponsorship; Two potential sponsors have turned us down. Craig is negotiating with other businesses.
Signs; Kevin and Vicki have both been in contact with the council regarding a sign by the Country Store(Pink Church). There is no problem with us putting a sign up over Easter.
Decided against 1B as the visibility isn’t great
Del will make enquiries with landowners on Maungatautari Rd
Drinks: Justin suggested we look into keg beer, especially for Friday night as it is cheaper than bottles.
Justin will give the Licence application form to Paul to fill in. Cost of $65
Name tags: Kevin will talk to Daniel at Printech about having our logo printed on cards.
We will use coloured ribbon and small safety pins to affix them.
Cloth; Jubilee Cloth is being done.
Tiles; Kevin will visit Splashy about costs and possible sample of tiles.
Jubilee Book / DVD; Michael would like to meet in the first week back after the holidays to work on this.
Registration forms; It was suggested we include a registration form with the next school community newsletters, which have wide catchments.
Caroline W. will contact the rural post drivers to see if they could deliver them for us. We will print 200 for them.
Radio notices; Kay Hale is a local contact with Radio Works. We will contact her.
Justin suggested we try Tamati Coffey from TVNZ to see if he would do a visit.
Official Invitations; Letters to be written formally inviting the Waipa Mayor, Peter Lee and our two MPs, Louise Upston and Lindsay Tisch. They are to be invited to speak at the Official Opening and also to attend the Saturday Evening function.
Moved ; Del 2nd Justin
Cake; It was suggested that the children might design a “paper” cake ribbon. With the cake size and the number of children at both schools, each child could do a simple figure…. approx 2.5 cm each.
Next Meeting Thursday April 22nd 7pm
