Matters Arising:

  • Sponsorship; Craig has asked Rob Waddell to be our guest speaker for the evening as it made sponsorship more attractive to businesses. Kevin moved that we have Rob as our speaker 2nd Shona. Unfortunately sponsorship has still not been finalised, so we decided to print some early registration forms and add sponsors logos as and when they come on board.
  • Licence; Justin has a friend, Paul Cowan, who is happy to be our Bar Manager for the evening. Shakespeare Liquor are available as a back up if needed, at $15 p/h. We will check licence requirements for Friday night events as drinks will not be sold. Friday night will be finger food and complimentary drinks from 7pm to 10pm. Saturday night will be from 6pm to (approx) 1am, with dinner being served at 7pm. Committee members and Bar Manager will need to be there at 5pm.
  • Registration Form; After looking at draft form again only a couple of minor changes were needed eg time for Saturday night. Moved to accept form Carolyn B 2nd Shona. Michael has asked that we each register ourselves on the webpage and also direct other people to the site.
  • Name Tags; We discussed tags in the plastic clip holders and decided not to go with them. We will get our logo printed on “business” cards and then have coloured ribbon and small safety pins to attach them with. The ribbon will be matched to the school colours for identification. Karapiro / Red , Whitehall / Blue, Taotoroa / Peach and Karapiro Hydro / yellow.
  • Jubilee Cloth; Embroidery is being taken care of.
  • Signs; We now have a sign on H’way 1 near Racecourse Road, one at Whitehall by the school and one spare. We will see if one can be placed by the Cambridge Store for about 3 weeks up to & including Easter, then out on 1B on corner of Church and Victoria Rds. Kevin will see if he can contact the owners. Vicky to be asked to contact council for first sign.
  • David Graham had a suggestion for selling ceramic plaques at the jubilee as a permanent reminder. Goodwood School has same. They are available through ‘Splashy’ at Horitu. Cost of $10 , sell for slightly more. Information could be given out with name tags at start of celebration. Samples on display if possible.
  • Book / DVD; We are looking at an updated version of the Centennial Book. Hope to produce a DVD to sell in a book package. David Graham is to contact PhotoLife to check on any copy right issues with school photos. We would like to get any anecdotes from current or recent families to be included. School newsletters could ask for info. At our next meeting we will need to form a sub-committee to begin collating information.
  • Registration forms need to be ready to begin sending to non-computer requests. Michael will e-mail a copy tomorrow for final look.
  • Secretary is to create a list of costings in and out.

Next Meeting Note MONDAY MARCH 29TH

Following this we will return to the first Thursday of the month. Easter is coming early and then school holidays, which is why we are meeting on March29th and then May 6th, with no meeting in April.
Meeting closed at 8.45pm
